Robert Van Aalst

Robert Van Aalst Chairperson of AFN. Robert has been in private law practice in Sydney since 1983 and is the principal of Lawyers Central Pty Ltd. His practice has centred round providing legal services mainly to women and their children. Over the past 5 years Robert has been involved in the repatriation of Australian children and women from North East Syria.

Dr. Jamal Rifi (AM)

Dr Jamal Rifi AM prominent leader in the Lebanese Muslim Community and advocate of multi-faith initiatives and a founding of Muslim Doctors Against Violence and the Christian-Muslim Friendship Society. In 2015 he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Canberra and in 2017 was appointed member of the Order of Australia (AM), in recognition of his outstanding achievements and service.

Rev. Bill Crews (AM)

Rev Bill Crews is a minister of the Uniting Church. He is the minister of the Ashfield parish in Sydney's inner west. Rev. Bill, has been supporting the homeless and vulnerable for more than 30 years. In 1998 he was included in the National Trust of Australia’s 100 “National Living Treasures.” In 1999 he was appointed a member of the Order of Australia (AM) for his services to the disadvantaged and his work with homeless youth.

Sh. Moustapha Sarakibi

Sh. Moustapha Sarakibi is a well know religious leader based in Melbourne. He is currently an executive director for the Board of Imams Victoria (BOIV) and manages all the operational affairs. He is also on the Executive Board. On a national level, he is involved with the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) where he serves as the secretary. In addition, he leads the Muslim chaplaincy at Melbourne University and conducts Friday prayers at the University mosque.
